Reliable automatic pet feeder information sources and video links
Automatic pet feeder - Automated feeders can be automatic dishes or automatic food dispensers. Automatic dishes are composed of covered compartments that the pet owner puts food in. At a preset time, the dish will open one of the compartments, giving the pet access to food.
Automatic food dispensers are, like mechanical dishes, composed of the hopper and the dish. The "automated" section is composed of a timer, and often a measurer. As such measured portions of food are dispensed to the pet at preset times.
The ideal automatic pet feeder should be suited to your pets needs. As such the pets size, age, temperament and feeding habits should bear consideration. The number of household pets is also important. You might need a feeder with multiple dishes, or more than one feeder.

Is their an automatic pet feeder that is secure enough for a crazy smart dog?
My dog loves food, like most dogs. Except sometimes I think he is super dog when it comes to his love for food. We've resorted to making sure there's no food on the counters and everything is at least on the upper shelves or on top of the refrigerator. He's eaten a whole pizza in minutes. half a pineapple i guess he didn't like it , a whole bag of apples and whole loaves of bread. In our house if you can see food the dog can get it.Unfortunately, my dog also has idiopathic epilepsy and must be fed on a consistent schedule. I'm going back to school and I won't be able to feed him on time. He eats wet food and I was wondering if anyone knew of an automatic pet feeder that is both impermeable and capable of feeding my dog at least 5 times a day and wet food?
How does automatic pet feeder work?
Can you set the time on them? I mean if I want my to feed my cat at 5 am but I'm sleeping. He keeps waking me up really early. It's just annoyingI can't keep food in his bowl all the time because he eats it right away. The other reason I really need a feeder is because he is 20 lbs.
Can anyone recommend a good but not terribly expensive automatic pet feeder for cats?
I have read a few reviews and all of them seem to have some flaws, such as being unable to accurately dispense small pellets for cats. Others have a flaw where the cat can get into the food with little trouble, or that you can't control the portion size.Has anyone found a good product?
Who can recommend the best automatic pet feeder for a cat?

Automatic Pet Feeder?
Looking for an automatic pet feeder that keeps the rest of the food secure. We have two dogs that live in the back yard with a heated and air conditioned dog house . We used to be able to leave them plenty of food and it would last a few days. we both travel and have crazy schedules so we want to make sure that they have food when they want it. But, they are aparenty " sharing" their food with birds and squirrels. What automatic pet food dispenser will only dispense a certain amount of food per day so that the other animals don't eat a weeks worth of dog food the first day while the dogs are distracted. The dogs don't allow the other animals near the food when they are eating. But, the birds sneak in while they are sleeping in the yard or they team up and distract the dogs on the other side on the yard while the other birds steal their food.
Automatic pet feeder for cats?
Just returned from a one week holiday in the Dominican was awesome Bought one of these automatic 5 day pet feeders to save my 2 Ragdoll cats from starving when i was away. Didn't realise that the thing needed a battery to operate and came home to both cats lying dead near the water bowl. Do you think its ok to return the feeder for a full refund as really it has not been used, also I dont have reciept for unused cat litter, do you think the shop will accept it for a refund without reciept? If anyone interested in a bargain please let me know.I was so angry that I took a glass of water from the goldfish bowl.

Automatic pet feeder while you're away.?
I'm flying out of state from Friday night until late Monday night. I really don't want to have to board my cat because she hates carriers, car rides, and cage to the point where she stresses herself out, hisses at anything and anyone, and doesn't eat much. I was looking into an automatic pet feeder but I have no experience with them or heard of their reliability. She can't be free fed because she'll eat anything she's offered in one sitting and stuff herself. She eats twice daily. I was thinking of buying one and having a friend come in and check on her at least once over the weekend to make sure it's working. I would of course test it out before leaving I'd also have an automatic waterer. Anyone have experience with these?Having my friend come over to feed her for us was my original idea but we've asked them several times in the past plus she's been sick lately so I thought it'd give her a break, especially since she'd have to stop by first thing in the morning Sat., Sun., and Mon. plus coming in the evenings each day. It will be my back up plan if I can get a good automatic feeder in time. Good idea about having a back up battery.I love the idea of leaving treats around the house for her. Thanks.
